What began as the “May EP Challenge” became just the “EP”. That’s OK, because that challenge got me pumped up to actually start working on the project–a project! The fact that it is over 2 1/2 months later and that the project is still alive is huge. Life can easily get in the way of getting something like this done, but this is an important part of my life and who I am, so I am making time and maybe more importantly, I am as stoked as I was before starting.
A big part of what is driving the timeline is that I am learning new gear and new techniques in a new digital world–ok, new to me. This is equally as exciting because I am realizing that I have the tools and am learning how to use them to get things done much faster and much better in the future. This means more music with fewer time obstacles.
All that said, I setting a deadline of September 4th–Labor Day here in the US–for the release of the EP. I have just started working on vocals, which has been the area that requires more effort on my part as it has been a looooooong time since I have moved those muscles. So, I am giving myself some room to work with it. Once the vocals are completed, some last finishing touches will go in and then on to the mixing and mastering process.
In the meantime, I may be dropping a single of one of the tunes sometime in the next couple of weeks, so we’ll see 🙂 I will keep you all updated as new info comes available.
